Do you draw things other than cafes and people?
Yes! We draw other types of stores and commercial buildings, kitchens, and kitchen equipment and implements. We also draw all types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, diggers, excavators and other construction equipment, dune buggies, planes, boats, trains, and even tanks!
What size are your standard drawings?
We deliver our standard drawings and designs as a set of digital files. You will receive high resolution 300 dpi JPG and PNG files as well as a source file These should allow you to print posters, flyers, T-shirts, and many types of branded merchandise.
What photo should I upload for you to make the drawing?
The higher the resolution the better! All of our drawings are made by hand, so the higher the quality of the photo the easier it is for us to make the drawings detailed! Photos taken with a camera or mobile phone work well. Just make sure you're uploading a high resolution image and not a scaled down one!
Hey, I haven't received my digital drawings, and it's been over 10 days. Where are they?
Your drawings should have been sent to you within about 8 days of placing your order and providing your photos and/or other reference materials. They will be sent to you via an email download link. They'll come from the email address: orders@cafecartoons.com. You should first check your spam folder for the period 7-10 days after placing your order. Then, please contact us at orders@cafecartoons.com, and we'll resend the drawings.
I ordered printed merchandise, but you only sent me some digital files. When do I get my printed items?
After you receive your set of digital files, please select the file that you would like us to print and notify us by email at orders@cafecartoons.com OR by replying to the email with your digital files. In most cases, we'll have a mockup of your merchandise sent to you for approval before actually printing.
Can you draw more than one building in my drawing?
Yes, we can draw multiple subjects in a drawing. For example, we can draw a cafe with specific car parked in front. Please note that we charge per item. So, to order two subjects would me that you would place an order for a quantity of 2 of the cartoons or drawings.
How long does it take to finish my drawing?
The timeline depends mostly on the style of drawing you order. Make sure to check the descriptions on each product page for our usual delivery time! The timeline may also be longer if we experience a large number of orders in a short period, but we'll always work as hard as we can to get it sent to you as fast as possible! We'll try to deliver your cartoon style cafe drawings in 7-8 days and more realistic style cafe or character drawings in 6-7 days.
How is the finished artwork sent to me?
After it's completed we'll send the digital drawing straight to your email! We send drawings to the email that you entered at checkout, so if you'd like it sent somewhere else just let us know in the notes box at checkout! PLEASE BE SURE TO ENTER THE CORRECT EMAIL, and check your spam and promotions folder so that you don't miss your drawing.
What format is the drawing in?
We send the drawings as a set of JPG and PNG files as well as a source file that is generally in Adobe Illustrator. We also can provide vector PDF files if requested. In some cases, we provide photoshop source files (raster files) in lieu of vector files.
Can you work from more than one photo?
Yes! The first photo you upload will be used as the base for the drawing, and additional photos can be uploaded to give the artist more perspective on angles of the subject that we're drawing. If you're adding a character to a drawing you can also upload separate pictures of of the character, and we'll draw them together with the main subject.
What if I'm not happy with the drawing?
We've made hundreds of drawings, and most of our customers are satisfied. We of course want to keep it that way, and will do our best o make a drawing that you absolutely love! If there is anything wrong with the first drawing we send to you just let us know and we will correct the drawing until it's exactly how you want it - free of charge!
Who owns the rights to my drawing?
You do. Our drawings and designs include full commercial rights. Occasionally, we would love to use your drawings for in our marketing campaigns, but let us know if you would prefer that we don't.
In some cases, customers will ask us to add a popular character or third-party logo to their drawing. As the customer, you are solely responsible for obtaining any rights or permissions to use third-party images, logos, brand marks, or intellectual property in your drawing. We are not authorized to provide legal opinions on the risks or consequences of including third-party images without appropriate permissions. You are solely responsible for any liabilities resulting for the use of third-party images, brand marks, or logos that you have requested in your designs and drawings.
I run a promotional products company and we would love to offer branded, custom drawings to our customers. Can you do that?
Absolutely! We work with many printers, design agencies, event organizers, and merchandise sellers to offer custom illustrations, designs, and cartoons to their customers. Contact us at support@cafecartoons.com and let us know what you have in mind.
Can't I just get these done for free with AI?
Maybe...That depends on what you're looking for and how you want to use your designs. You can certainly use AI to create fun, cartoonish images of your cafe and characters for your promotions. We don't use AI to create our designs. We still use highly skilled human artists. Here's why:
1) Our customers generally have very specific requests for their designs. They want a specific building or character drawn a specific way with a specific message. After reviewing an initial draft, they may want to make very specific changes or revisions. Unfortunately, AI programs do not always follow precise instructions and desired outcomes may take much, much longer than expected to really "get it right".
2) While AI can draw graphic elements, backgrounds, fonts, and likenesses from 1000s (or more) sources, AI programs are much less effective at clearing the ownership of those graphics or fonts. So, your "fun" image may include elements that you don't have the rights to use, particularly if you plan to use them commercially.
3) Our designs and artwork come as high resolution, print-ready images. Many free AI programs do not provide images with resolutions that you can use for printed merchandise. AI programs also are not yet able to provide vector source files which are important for screen printing, signage, engraving,
4) Lastly, AI programs are not yet printing merchandise. Although we do foresee the growth of AI-enabled and AI-guided printing in the future. Human operators are still handling nearly all merchandise printing.
